About me
Originally from Newcastle i've lived and worked in the Manchester area now since 1997. I now live in near Manchester, England with my wife Angela and my daughter Lily.
I spent 2 years working as a photographers assistant in the early 1990s and have retained a strong interest in taking photographs as a hobby. I remember seeing footage of the Muhammed Ali v Leon Spinks fight in 1978 when i was only 8 years old and then being captivated by the intensity of the rivalry between Hagler, Duran, Leonard and Hearns throughout the early 1980s but my concentrated interest in boxing begain with the introduction of Mike Tyson onto the world stage with his victory over Trevor Berbick in 1986.
I attended my first fight at the Eston Sports Academy in Middlesborough in 1989 to watch 'Gentleman' Glenn McCrory beat the South African Siza Makhitini to defend his IBF World Cruiserweight Championship and at the time of writing attended my last fight at Frank Warrens Magnificent 7 promotion at the Birmingham LG Arena.
